Fiona emigrated from the UK with her family to the Okanagan in 2007, where she is a grateful settler on the lands of the Okanagan Syilx people and enjoys spending time engaging in the emerging vibrant cultural scene in the area, including the many festivals and music events, markets, culinary experiences, and local theatre productions. Fiona takes a systemic approach to her clinical work, focusing on promoting connection and strengthening bonds with the belief that this fosters physical and emotional wellbeing and cultivates resiliency. For over 20 years she has worked with individuals and families in various mental health settings in both the UK and Canada including child and adolescent inpatient psychiatric units, adult and youth community mental health teams, as well as in private practice. Her interests are in working with couples and families on relationship difficulties, including parent/child conflict and couples counselling, though she also supports individuals experiencing anxiety, low mood, stressful life events, or other issues.

Fiona holds a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counselling, a Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mental Health Studies. She provides tailored interventions to address a wide range of concerns for individuals, families, and couples, effectively integrating various approaches such as systemic, Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Functional Family Therapy (FFT). Fiona has sought additional training and specializations in motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy for adolescents, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) for anxiety, amongst others. She is also Level I TEAM Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Certified. Fiona is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
