Darcy was born in the prairies, but grew up and continues to live in Victoria, where she loves spending time outside in the garden and at local beaches with her family and dogs. For over 20 years, Darcy has been supporting children and families as a teacher, school counsellor, and now as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and parent coach. Both her personal and professional experiences have influenced her passion for supporting parents in their role as emotion coaches for children, as an elementary and middle school teacher for 13 years, a school counsellor at two private schools, and in group and private practice settings. Darcy specializes in helping clients with emotion regulation and distress tolerance skills, using mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and self-compassion practices, among others.

Darcy holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor of Education Degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Victoria. With her teaching background, Darcy has developed two successful group programs to support children and parents with managing their moods: Chaos to Calm (a 12-week online course designed to help parents identify and manage their emotional triggers, regulate intense feelings, and guide their children to do the same), and Mood Managers (an 8-week online group program designed to help children between 8-11 years of age learn skills and strategies to manage their emotions more effectively). Darcy is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
